For Families
We offer a range of communication services to meet the needs of your child.

Speech is all about how we say words and how sounds are formed. Some children have difficulty pronouncing certain sounds which can impact their overall clarity. We offer detailed assessment and therapy to support children with a range of speech sound difficulties, delays and disorders.

Language refers to understanding and using words. Some children may need additional support with understanding instructions, finding the words they want to say or formulating sentences. We support children with a range of different language difficulties, so if you would like to find out more about how we can support your child, please get in touch.

We are neurodiversity affirming therapists, who offer child-centred assessment and therapy to support individualised needs. We use the total communication approach, which allows children to communicate in the most accessible way to them. This may include words and phrases, communication devices, visuals, signing, and gestures.

Our Process
Email / Telephone Call
We receive your email or telephone enquiry, and respond to you as soon as possible.
Initial Assessment
We book in an initial assessment at a time that works for you. Then we complete a detailed clinical assessment at home, school, or nursery, and provide a written report with recommendations and findings.
Therapy Sessions
If therapy is recommended, this is usually offered in blocks of 6 sessions. Our therapy plans are flexible to fit your unique needs.
Ongoing Review & Support
We work with families to ensure current support is regularly reviewed and remains child-centred. Some families benefit from ongoing support, while others join Pear Tree with joint, shorter term goals.
For Schools & Pre-Schools
We are keen to build strong links with local pre-schools and schools, and work collaboratively with staff to support pupils’s communication needs.
We aim to provide flexible, bespoke support that compliments and works alongside your existing provision, and is shaped around each pre-school or schools community.
We welcome the opportunity to hear about your setting’s priorities and any areas where additional speech and language input may be helpful, now or in the future. This could include specialist assessment or advice, 1:1 therapy, support for specialist bases within the setting, parent referrals or something else.
